NEW FOR 2025! We’re proud to offer this historic local variety. In 1898, Enrico Inciardi immigrated from Sicily wearing a jacket in which he’d sewn the seeds of his family’s tomato. He settled in Downers Grove, worked in the sprawling Western Electric factory, survived the Eastland disaster, and propagated his full-bodied, paste tomato. The elongated (3-5”), crimson saladette (app. 5-7 oz.) has a deep, rich, classic flavor. Ideal for pastes, sauces and canning. Heat and drought tolerant. Late season (app. 85 days from transplant to maturity). Seeds from and photo by ©MIgardener.
