"Weeeelll doggies!" According to legend, this variety was named for the Grand Ole' Opry star of the 1970s and disappeared until the early 1990s when seeds were found in a toolshed. Abundant crops of smooth, crimson beefsteaks (app. 10-16 oz.) with distinctive, well-balanced, rich, sweet flavor. Good choice for a canning, sauce, salad or juice. Disease and crack resistant.
